Travels: the word always conjures up such wonderful images; footprints in the desert, towering mountains shrouded in mist and winding streets. Markets hung with colourful fruits and the babble of  unfamiliar vowels and consonants; a deserted beach, green waves tugging the shore.

No matter where we go, or how accurate those pictures in our heads are, the lure of wanderlust pulls us forward; or as Robert Jordan once described it: 'The world will put a hook in your mouth.'

We might be trying to find our 'real selves', seeking the perfect life, or just running away from something. Whatever the reason, travel is always exciting and dangerous, steeped in tales of mystery and adventure.
